We've had a very mild winter, but don't forget that it's still February. The Atlanta area can get frost as late as April, and we've had few March blizzards. It's probably too early to plant, but it's not too early to get ready. We can clean fallen leaves, clean gutters, clean out and prune your perennial beds and refresh your beds with pine straw or mulch. We can also help plan your spring planting and schedule planting for when the soil temperatures are reliably above 60 degrees.

The coldest temperatures of 2012 may still be ahead. If you haven't already done so, completely drain your irrigation system for winter. Most homes have a separate water valve for the irrigation down near the street. Shut the valve off by hand and then have the irrigation system cycle through all zones. This process will rid the system of all remaining water.
